Firwood Media is a Metro Detroit-based media administration firm supporting independent artists, filmmakers, and creative businesses in releasing music and managing intellectual property. Led by an experienced music rights professional, Firwood specializes in music licensing, rights management, synchronization licensing, metadata administration, and copyright registration.
We provide hands-on support for music distribution preparation, PRO registration, cue sheet filing, and royalty collection setup, helping clients protect their music, avoid common release mistakes, and build systems for long-term monetization across streaming platforms.
Through Mavenal Records and Mavenal Publishing, we offer independent artists and songwriters a pathway to release music independently while maintaining ownership and control, with no upfront costs.

OUR FOUNDER
LIZ PANTELIS
Liz Pantelis is the founder of Firwood Media, bringing over 20 years of experience operating behind the scenes in the music industry. Her work is centered on guiding artists and creative teams in transforming their ideas into structured, protected, and sustainable assets. She specializes in the business and administrative side of music, with an emphasis on making complex processes around rights, distribution, and monetization more accessible and actionable.
She is also a partner at The Disc Ltd., a historic Detroit-area recording studio where she is actively involved in daily operations, client systems, and long-term planning. Working within an active studio environment allows her to remain closely aligned with how projects develop from initial concept through release, and how early decisions influence long-term outcomes.
In addition, Liz serves as an executive partner at Hermanito, where she oversees A&R, marketing, publishing, licensing, metadata systems, and royalty administration. The organization operates as a network of interconnected ventures with a focus on Global Bass and Urban Latino music, and a foundation in live event production dating back to 2010.
Through Firwood Media, she supports artists, filmmakers, and creative businesses at various stages of development. Her work includes release strategy, rights and metadata management, licensing coordination, and the implementation of systems designed to support long-term catalog value and revenue generation.
Her background spans live sound, studio engineering, and early digital operations, including managing artist web platforms at Capitol Records during a pivotal period in the industry’s digital transition. She also has experience in legal administration supporting rights-related workflows, which continues to inform her approach to ownership, protection, and strategic planning.
Her work is grounded in a consistent objective: equipping creatives with the knowledge and infrastructure needed to make informed decisions, safeguard their work, and build sustainable careers within the music and media industries
